I acknowledge and honour the Wadawurrung People and the Guilijan and Gadubanud Peoples of the Eastern Maar, the traditional custodians of the land we now call the Surf Coast Shire.

I deeply appreciate the unique spiritual and material connection that the first peoples have with the land and water, encompassing the trees, rocks, hills, valleys, creeks, rivers, and the ocean of the Surf Coast and hinterland.
