How long do you think it should take you to lose weight?




When I couldn’t lose weight, It was because thought I should be able to do it in a couple of weeks, max 6. Which was bloody ridiculous considering how much I had to lose.

Not that I actually ever thought about it. I just presumed if I was going on a diet.

I should be rewarded with weight loss,  pretty close to immediately  

And when I was not.

I would stop. 

And so the try fail diet cycle that had my life wrapped around its little pinky continued. 


Losing weight takes time. 
Not just the losing of the kilos.
But the learning that has to take place to lose the kilos.
You have to learn how to lose weight. 

And like when you learn anything.

You’ll get some of it right straight away and then you’ll get a fair bit of it wrong for some time.

Same too for weight loss.

When you are learning to lose weight it means you will lose weight and you will gain weight. And if you are willing to learn. You’ll lose it again. For good.

But I didn't know this.

I could not for the life of me, take in the information  (of what I ate and why I at it) that was telling me 

how I could lose weight.

Nope.

I was too busy yelling at my results to hear the answer. 

This lesson took me years and years to learn. 

Learning the lesson took the time.

The weight loss was pretty fast after that.

So you might want to think about how long you think it should take you to lose your weight. And add into the equation how long it took to put it on.

And give yourself a break. 

Weight loss is a learning process. And learning takes patience and time. And if you don't learn that, You might never learn at all. And that would be boring.
